Arch Insurance International, a part of the global Arch Capital Group and a provider of specialty insurance solutions across multiple lines, has appointed Sophie Mansouri as UK Professional Indemnity (PI) Underwriting Manager, effective immediately.

The promotion follows Arch’s strategic move to merge its London Market SME and UK Regional PI operations into a single, integrated underwriting team.

The realignment is intended to enhance consistency in underwriting, improve broker service, and expand access to tailored insurance solutions for a wide range of professions.

In her new role, Mansouri will oversee an eight-person underwriting team responsible for Arch’s UK PI portfolio.

This includes coverage for both conventional professional services as well as more specialised fields, such as technical and scientific sectors. She will be based in London and will report to David Longley, Head of Professional Indemnity.

Mansouri joined Arch in 2023 from Hiscox, where she led the UK Large Renewals Team, and brings over 11 years of experience in commercial insurance. Her leadership is expected to be central in driving the performance and direction of the newly consolidated PI unit.

The integration of Arch’s regional and London Market PI teams aims to simplify access for brokers, providing a cohesive underwriting approach and greater agility in addressing complex and emerging risks.

The unified UK PI team is part of Arch’s broader professional indemnity offering, which also includes the London Market Large Account PI team led by Austen Barnes, and the Delegated Authority PI segment, overseen by Paul Sharpe.

Longley added: “Sophie will be integral to driving growth and strengthening our market standing within UK PI, as our newly combined team continue to deliver comprehensive solutions for our brokers and mutual clients. By creating a more aligned structure, we’re able to provide greater value to our brokers, offering them a broader risk appetite and improved service capabilities.”
