Rokstone, an international specialty re/insurance MGA and part of the Aventum Group, has appointed Matt Bishop as Class Underwriter for its new UK and Ireland Casualty division, which was launched last week.
Bishop, who brings 35 years of industry experience with a focus on Casualty, will join Rokstone after completing his notice period at Convex, where he served as Senior Underwriter for the past five years.
Before joining Convex, he spent 14 years at Catlin / AXA XL as a cross-class underwriter and portfolio manager, working across both direct and delegated authority business.
Bishop’s appointment follows the news last week that Rokstone has appointed Lewis Goodearl, also previously at Convex, to Head the new division.
Ian Anson, Global CEO at Rokstone, commented, “We’re excited to welcome Matt on board as we continue to build a market-leading, technology-driven Casualty portfolio. Matt has a proven track record and reputation for sound risk assessment and technical excellence.
“He brings strong analytical and negotiation capabilities, in-depth industry knowledge, and a focus on regulatory compliance and profitable portfolio development.
“We’ve assembled highly experienced, well-respected underwriters who bring a deep understanding of the market, backed by robust long-term capacity partnerships. With extensive expertise, we are confident in our ability to provide innovative and long-term solutions to the market.”
